Hull No. 29 of the popular German Frers design. A total of 88 yachts were built between 1992 and 2006! The Hallberg Rassy offers superb sailing qualities and a very well thought out cockpit and interior layout. Hydraulic furling genoa and mainsail. Watermaker, generator, webasto heating and air-conditioning.

Headroom 2.04m. Accommodation for six persons in three double cabins. Owner's cabin aft with large double centreline bed, settee to port and ensuite head with separate shower to starboard. One twin bedded guest cabin forward with sail locker beneath and lockers and shelves above. Upper and lower bedded guest cabin to starboard. Guest wc/showerroom.

Saloon redesigned with individual custom-built saloon table and television/HIFI entertainment centre. Settee berth to port with stowage behind. L-shaped settee to starboard. The most significant element being the extensive mural decoration on the bulkhead. This can easily be changed again to the standard HR interior. Large chart table to starboard with drawers and space for nav. aids, comfortable seat, lockers and hanging locker for oil skins, electrical panel with labelled trip switches.

Volvo Penta TAMD 41B 145 hp diesel, new 2005, maximum speed approx. 9.5 knots, cruising speed 7.8 knots, hydraulic transmission, fresh water cooled and equipped with oil cooler, gearbox with single lever control, Aquadrive 45 mm stainless steel shaft and Deep Sea Seal stern gland, 3-bladed feathering propeller, Vetus electric bowthruster.

Engine compartment is accessible from both a door in the saloon, starboard of the companionway, and from a door in the walk through, and one can walk into the engineroom and around the engine.

This Hallberg Rassy 53 (hull no 29) was built in 1996 but was only commissioned in 1997 after extensive re-styling. Her black Awlgripped hull and gold style lines flatter this elegant German Frers designed yacht.

The sleeping quarters and the salon has undergone individual redesigning.

This self-sufficient, high performance yacht, is set up for short handed crew thanks to push-button sailing from the cockpit, and she will take you on long passages with all comforts. Life off-shore is made easy with the additional fuel capacity and watermaker.

Comments by the designer, German Frers: "The Hallberg-Rassy 53's hull shape was developed following the significant lessons learned from the intense research programme carried out by our design office for the American's Cup. Her moderate displacement is in line with the yacht's strong construction and highg level of equipment carried on board. Sail area too is generous, and coupled with the excellent stability gained from the 53's special bulb keel, performs well, even in light winds. The overhangs are rather generous for her type and contribute to give the yacht an aspect of graceful elegance which will be maintained regardless of the passage of time."
