Den Helder, The Netherlands, dim.: 14.95 (lwl 12.50) x 4.50 x 2.20 m, headway: 24.50 m, design by Van de Stadt & Partners, hull constructed in red-cedar planking with roving and epoxy on both sides, anti-slip decks, hardened glass windows, roundbilged hull, fin keel, balanced spade rudder, displacement: 18 tonnes, ballast: 7 tonnes (lead in steel keel, bolted with s/s bolts), fuel tanks: 2x 300 litres, fresh water tanks: 2x 450/2x 200 litres, sump tanks: 2x 200 litres, all tanks in woodcore-epoxy, twin Whitlock wheelsteering positions in the cockpit, hydraulic wheel steering inside decksaloon, emergency tiller.
As with most designs from Van de Stadt, the Tasman 48 is an excellent and safe performer under sail, has a comfortable ride and enough interior space for long distance sailing. The Tasman 48 has a raised decksaloon with a U-shaped settee and an inside helm position for sheltered steering. Futhermore three separate double cabins, so ample space for owner and guests. Well equipped.
