The Yacht ZAHI was custom built by Aluboot BV Hindeloopen with the intent of lve aboard full time cruising. Her maiden voyage was from Hindeloopen to Norway, Sweden, Danmark and Germany. From northern Europe ZAHI sailed south to the Canary Islands for a season. Several weeks were spent cruising Senegal and Gambia before a month long visit in the Cap Verde Islands. An easy 17 days passage to Barbados followed western Africa. The yacht has cruised the caribbean islands from Anguilla to Trinidad and Grenada, Venezuela to the ABC islands from 1994 until 2009. ZAHI was in Hurricane Luis in 1995 in St Maarten. She was 1 of only a dozen yachts to completely escape damage from the hurricane that sank 1200 sailboats that year. Strong aluminum construction has very serious benefits. So many islands with wonderful people, places to visit and things to see. It is easy cruising here with beautiful clear turquoise water so inviting for diving and water sports. All routine haulouts have been made in St Maarten at Bobby's Marine an excellent full service yard for Aluminum yachts.
