Designed by the American John Alden under the code name RENA CLASS 0744N & constructed in Cape Town in 1984 using Iroko wood for the Hull & Deck and Teak for the interior. Plans were brought from Alden co through Peabody Museum Massachusetts U.S by British captain N. Halliwell. He believed the yacht was ideal for transatlantic passages. He did 60.000 nm in 5 years from South Africa to USA, UK and back to Africa.
