More info on hull   A water displacement yacht built in steel has great advantages, until now, because with the SLX54 the yard introduces a solution; an underwater hull that is midway between a water displacement and a planing yacht. In fact, an entirely new concept launched under the name FDHF MC (Fast Displacement Hull Form Multi Chine). The first multi-chine vessel with the underwater hull developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, but also the first steel yacht of this size to be built with it. With this new type of underwater hull, you are able to keep up with - and even overtake - a freighter without pulling a big stern wave or requiring very heavy engines. An important additional advantage is that resistance is as low as possible, thus reducing fuel consumption considerably.

Layout   Thanks to the extraordinarily wide glass frontage of the BeachDeck adjacent BeachLounge, the inside and outside feel feel like one beautiful space. The sliding doors in the fa├žade provide access to this BeachLounge. A wonderful place to enjoy both daytime and evening by the water. In the BeachLounge are the dinette, the luxurious kitchen and two comfortable corner sofas. The kitchen is djacent to the BeachDeck, From this BeachLounge you will not only enjoy a wonderful view over the BeachDeck towards the water, but in all directions large glass panes provide unlimited view. The position of the windows as well as the height levels on board are designed so that from any vantage point (sitting and standing) the view can be enjoy the view. Five steps lead from the BeachLounge into the upper WheelHouse; the central space on the SLX54. From here you can also make your way to the SunDeck and to the cabins at the front of the ship. As throughout the ship, the large glass windows in the WheelHouse provide fantastic engagement with the outside. The generous U-shaped sofa is positioned a little higher allowing you to enjoy the view from a seated position as well. A lovely place to sail along. The steering position, which of course state-of-the-art technology, is positioned so that guests on the U-bench and the skipper are in contact with each other

The Hull Vane, a kind of spoiler mounted under the vessel, also ensures also ensures that the stern wave is minimal and the energy it contains is used for forward thrust. The wing profile generates a lift force from the oblique upwash behind the transom. This lift force is forward and therefore not only lifts the stern slightly up, but also gives it a thrust.
