De Valk sells Noordzeekotter
We recently completed the sale of the trawler motoryacht Jan Gerardus, the second time this unique vessel has passed through the De Valk books. She was originally built in 1999 by Vitters to the highest standards of Dutch craftsmanship for a highly experienced German client.
During the Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show (Hiswa te Water) in 2004, Pieter Bosma of De Valk Monnickendam sold Jan Gerardus to a client, who spent the next two years enjoying her to the max. Having himself bought another yacht, he asked De Valk to again find a new owner. One of De Valk's Dutch clients was quickly impressed with the motoryacht's superior workmanship and the transaction took place smoothly.
The new owner has decided to return Jan Gerardus to her original name, Urania, and will berth her in the Dutch province of Zeeland. In the coming season he plans to explore the southern coast of England before heading north to Scotland. Also on the agenda at a later stage are cruises around the Norwegian fjords and Sweden.
Wherever the owner may take her, he is sure to enjoy Urania's pleasant wheelhouse, which includes a new interior designed and fitted at another famous Dutch yard, Hakvoort. Peace and quiet is also assured: noise insulation was a priority for the builders and extensive stability tests were performed to maximise comfort.
