Over the years, Tillotson-Pearson has established a reputation for high quality production work. The J-35 was a succesfull racer from its introduction in 1983. Short overhangs, a long waterline, relatively low and flat sheerline, a low cabin house, and a moderate well balanced rig. The fact that the J-35 is the choice of people sailing shorthanded also says that its well suited for cruising This is a sailing boat with the ability to be very, very fast and yet not difficult to sail. GRP sailing yacht J-35 "Jan Rap", built in 1987 by TPI (Tillotson Pearson Inc.), designed by R. Johnstone, dim: 10.70 (lwl 9.15) x 3.60 x 2.10m., GRP hull, superstructure and deck, round bilged hull, fin keel, balanced spade rudder, displacement: 5 tonnes, ballast: 1.8 tonnes, dieseltank: 60 ltrs (aluminium), fresh water tank: 160 ltrs, Whitlock mechanical wheelsteering, emergency tiller.
Classic teak interior, 1 cabin (V-berth in forepeak, this is an extra cruising option) and saloon, cushions and floors needs replacement, 6 berths, headroom approx. 185m., manual u.w. toilet, heating (diesel), two burner stove with oven, electric/manual waterpressure system, boiler hot water system (220v + engine), 12v fridge.
Yanmar 3GM30F 27hp (20Kw) diesel engine, engine built in 1987, indirect cooling system, mechanical gearbox, Gori two bladed propeller (2000) , 2 x manual bilge pump, 12v electrical system, 2 x 65amp batteries ('01), shore power, battery charger (2003)
