The Aphrodite 40 is a well thought through concept for an ocean going centre-cockpit sailing yacht. Ample space on deck and below with a high freeboard for headroom and protection from the elements. Below decks two major separate cabins. Fine Scandinavian joinery that breathes craftsmanship and quality. One may easily compare the Aphrodite with Hallberg, Najad and the successor, Regina af Vindö from the same yard. This Aphrodite has a sloop-stoway-rig for easy handling, safety and good efficiency. Her current owner upgraded electronics and equipment.

GRP sailing yacht Aphrodite 40 ''Brighid'', built in 1984 by Rex Marine AB in Henàn - Sweden, hull number 18, dim.: Loa 12.10 m (Lwl 10,30 m ) x 3.65 m x 1.75 m, headway approx. 17,00 m, designed by Carl Beyer, teak deck, GRP hull, deck and superstructure, Plexiglas windows in aluminium framing, Lewmar hatches, round bilged white hull with blue striping, fin keel, semi balanced rudder in skeg, displacement: 9 tonnes, ballast: 3,2 tonnes (zinc covered cast iron), fuel tank: 2 x 175 litres (s/s), freshwater tank: 2 x 180 litres (s/s), sump tank: 120 litres, Nordic mechanical wheel steering, emergency tiller.
Classic mahogany interior, saloon + large front and aft cabin, total 7 berths, headroom saloon: approx. 2.05 m, one marine head in front with wash bowl, Jabsco under water and shower, Eberspächer D4L diesel ducted air heating, electric water pressure system, galley with double sink s/s, extra fresh water foot pump, Isothemp boyler hot water system - runs on engine and 220V, Isotherm 12V cool box, Isotherm 12V fridge Techimpex two burner stove with oven, crockery.
Volvo Penta MD30A, 62 hp (46 kW) diesel engine - installed in 1984, indirect coolingsystem, Volvo Penta gearbox, consumption: approx. 4 ltr./h., cruising speed: approx. 7 knots, fixed three bladed propeller, Rheinstrom electric bowthruster, deck wash, manual and (2x) electric bilgepumps, 12V/220V electrical system, 2x 12v generator on main engine, 5x 104 amp. batteries (2000/2002), shore power, Mastervolt automatic battery charger.
C-Plath Venus pedestal compass, Simrad log and echosounder (both new 2001), Stowe Dataline Waypoint, VDO windset, Shipmate RS 8300 VHF with ATIS and SOS, Robertson AP1000 autopilot, Nasa video Navtes, radio/cassette player.
Fixed windscreen with sprayhood and cockpit cover, BFA 5 persons life raft (must be inspected - last inspection 4-2002), 2x life jackets, life lines, fire extinguisher (must be inspected), Vetus electric windlass with capstan, CQR anchor with 40 m chain, boarding ladder s/s, clock and barometer.
