The HR42E, so designated in honor of its designer, Olle Enderlein, was built from 1980 to 1991. It is one of the purest expressions of the Hallberg-Rassy ethos and features all of the firm’s signature design elements–a center-cockpit layout, a flush teak deck crowning a high-freeboard hull, a distinctive fixed windshield, and a well-appointed mahogany interior. The owner started to replace the teak with additional fiberglass and gel coat on the deck (pictures) but unfortunately could not complete the task, while this HR42E has a custom made Bimini frame which offers a full cockpit enclosure.

Very popular HR 42E in stunning and superb state, looking smart and even better in real. The engine has been replaced in 2003 by a 5 cylinder VW, what an immense silence! Between 2014 and 2017 so many renewals and improvements done, count with us: AWL grip hull, clean-and-go Copper coat antifouling, Sikaflex teak deck, engine shaft, propeller, rope cutter, batteries, charger/inverter, bow thruster, full electronic package, Webasto heating, rigging. All replaced during the last years. For sure this yacht is very well taken care of and in a totally ready to go condition!

As with any HR she is very well maintained with a new Volvo engine, propellershaft and maxprop propeller and rewiring installed in 2009 and a new fueltank in 2010. The typical flush teakdeck was renewed in 2013 together with new AWL Grip topsides. She is equipped with a bowthruster, electric windlass, solar panels and a watermaker , ready for long bluewater cruises.

The Hallberg Rassy 42 E is probably the best design from Olle Enderlein & Christoph Rassy ever to come out of Sweden. Well proportioned in accommodation and performance, she is still one of the best blue water cruisers on the market today.
