For sale: Moonen 85

Built in 1990 by Moonen Shipyards, Jumbo is renowned both for being a splendid yacht in her own right and for numbering Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands among her former owners. As a part of the Dutch royal fleet, she was completely overhauled in 2001 and has since also been thoroughly refitted by her present owner. Jumbo is currently berthed in Croatia and offers a rare opportunity to own a top-quality Moonen 85 with a unique heritage.

Designed by Diana Yacht Design, Jumbo is a long-range displacement motoryacht with a transatlantic range. Her round-bilge steel hull is complemented by an elegant aluminium superstructure and teak decks. Jumbo has a cosy saloon in classic teak and accommodation for eight in four guest cabins, as well as a well-equipped galley.

The royal family originally purchased Jumbo via De Valk and this is now the third occasion that the Dutch brokerage house has had this wonderful motoryacht on its books. “Sheis still in pristine condition thanks to several refits and her original build quality,” responsible broker Mark Swagerman of De Valk’s Amsterdam office says. “Jumbo’s owner even had her steel hull repainted in a coat of striking blue Awlgrip and installed completely new systems. We trust that her next owner will have as much fun sailing her through the Croatian islands or further afield.”
