Built for her present owner to a very high standard and with a lot of improvements showing the experience that the owner had with previous yachts he had built. She's a very strong, well sailing world cruiser ready to go on any trip. She offers style and comfort. Her shallow draft (1,15/2,35 m) in combination with her deckhouse configuration makes her ideal for living aboard.

Steel sailing yacht Puffin 42 "Julia Catherina", deck saloon, launched in 1999, hull built by Mekon Shipyard in Lemmer - NL, interior built by Scheepstimmerbedrijf W. Koornstra in Harlingen, paint works by Jachtschildersbedrijf E.J. van de Bles in Makkum, hull number: 4AO. Yacht has been approved by Lloyds Register for CE accreditation CE Category: A (oceangoing), design: Olivier F. van Meer Design - Enkhuizen, dim.: Loa 15.50 m including rudder and jib boom (hull length 12,72 m/Lwl 11,77 m) x 4.20 m x 1.15/2.35 m, steel hull (5 mm), superstructure (4 mm) and deck (4 mm), Rafa single glass windows in copper frames and heavy welded portholes, all the portholes can be opened, round-bilged hull, cutter bow and cordiform stern with tumble home double welded and very well isolated, watertight bulkhead with water tide door, centre board keel, displacement: approx. 19 tonnes, fuel tanks: 2x approx. 280 litres (integrated - steel), day tank: 50 litres with electrical fuel pump or an inline manual pump, fresh water tanks: 2x approx. 280 litres (integrated - steel) and an extra 400 litres fresh water tank in for ship, sump tank capacity approx. 285 litres with electrical Rheinstrom disposal pump and a manual Whale back up pump, all tanks with large man holes, Whitlock heavy duty mechanical wheel steering with just 3.2 turns from board to board, emergency tiller (extra heavy).
Cherry wood interior with massive ashen wooden floor panels, deck saloon, saloon with galley, large owners cabin + one quest cabin + pilot berth, 5 (+2) berths, berths with a teak wooden slatted base, brass-gold plate cabin lights, dimmed cabin lights in saloon, massive wooden grip lines throughout the whole yacht, roller blinds for the large windows, bathroom with wash bowl, shower and a Rheinstrom manual toilet (in waste tank or in water disposal), Dickinson diesel heater, hot water through boiler (60 litres - runs on engine and 220 Volt), galley with double sink, Frigomatic fridge, Force Ten 3-burner gas stove - thermal saved and cardan installed, gas locker for two large bottles, gas detector and electric gas valve, gas installation with certificate.
Deutz Turbo DT4.29 4 cylinder 83 hp (61 kW) diesel engine (at 2800 rpm), Morse engine control, three double fuel filter system: one filter with water separator, a second double changeable fine filter and a third biologic filter, Vetus dashboard, maximum speed: approx. 7.5 knots, three-bladed Max Prop, propeller shaft stainless steel - water/grease lubricated, three main switches (engine/light/emergency set), two fire extinguishers, manual and electrical bilge pumps with manifold, separate manual bilge pump in engine room, electrical circuit: 12/24/220 Volt, main basis and engine 24 Volt, 9x Mastervolt gel batteries, 16 Ah. shore power with earth leakage breaker - two connections; one in cockpit and one in chain locker on the bow of the yacht, Mastervolt battery charger 24 Volt/50 A, Mastervolt Sinus inverter 24 Volt/1500 A, two altenators on main engine - both 90 A, charging through an Alpha switch, extra heavy electrical wiring laid in cable trays.
Whitlock compass, Autohelm ST80, echo sounder, log and wind set: read out on two mother screens, Sailor 4800 25W VHF - DSC GMD SS, Raytheon D GPS, Raytheon L72 radar, Autohelm autopilot ST7000 (in-and outside), weather fax, color television with remote control, Sony radio with CD-player/changer.
Teak in cockpit, Autoflug Petrel 2000S 4 persons life raft in container (must be checked), life lines hook-ups, Lewmar Sprint 1500 electrical windlass, three anchors, boarding ladder on rudder, deck shower in cockpit, sea railing: stainless steel, clock, barometer, a lot of heavy stainless steel parts on deck and hull, spare parts for the engine.
