Very much appreciated model in the famous Contest range. Space, performance, reliability, comfort and seaworthiness all roled into one Dick Zaal design. Well balanced and easy to handle with her ketch-rig and comfortable with fore- and aftcabin and well sized cockpit. She has been seriously upgraded over the years, comprising a major refit in 2000-2003. Probably one of the most attractive Contest 36's on the market.

GRP sailingyacht Contest 36B Ketch "Riffin", built in 1978 by Conyplex, The Netherlands, dim.: 10,95 (lwl 8,80) x 3,55 x 1,90 mtr, design by Dick Zaal, grp hull, deck and superstructure, hull professionally painted in 2 comp. dark blue in 2003, some deckhatches renewed, windows in alum. framing, roundbilged hull, fin keel, skeg hung rudder, displacement: 8,7 tonnes, ballast: 2,7 tonnes (cast iron), fueltank: 150 ltrs, freshwatertanks: 450 ltrs (s.s.), Cinkel mechanical wheelsteering, emergency tiller.
Classic mahogany interior, 2 cabins and saloon, 4(+2) berths, dinette, 1 x RM69 u.w.toilet, shower, Eberspaecher Airtronic D4 diesel ducted hot air heater (2002), galley; electric waterpressure system, boyler hot water system (220v/engine, 2002), Trobic two burner gasstove with oven (2002), Isotherm 12v fridge (2002), new dark blue upholstery in 2003.

Ketch-rigged, Van der Neut aluminium masts, s.s. standing rigging, Profurl genoa furler, 3 sails (2002): main / furling genoa / mizzen, covers for main, mizzen and genoa, slabreefing for main, tackle boomvang, 2 x 26C Enkes sheetwinches, 2 x halyard winches, spi-pole stowed at mast.
