Broker's comments
In second ownership since 1975, "Maramaka" is much appreciated and known for her long distance cruising characteristics. Built by American Marine (Grand Banks) in Mahongany planking on Yacal frames, the hull is in good condition and recently surveyed with good results. She has ample live-aboard space, stowage and range, making her ideal for long distance cruising and living onboard. Her condition is pretty much original, but her stern, inner-bullwarks have been replaced. Dry-stored every 3-4 years and sailed on salt waters.

Wooden Grand Banks Alaskan 49 "Maramaka", built in 1973 by American Marine Hong Kong, dim.: 14.90 x 4,80 x 1,70 mtr, headway: 4,98 mtr, design by Defever, mahogany/Yacal hull, teakdecks, glass windows, "Portugese bridgedeck", displacement: 29 tonnes, fueltanks: 2800 ltrs (mild steel), freshwatertanks: 1500 ltrs (s.s.), mechanical wheelsteering (cables renewed in 1999), emergency tiller.
Classic teak interior, 2 cabins and saloon, wheelhouse with helmposition and seaberth, in both cabins double berths, sleeps five (+2) in total, 110/220v electrical heaters (convectors), 2 x shower and Blake toilets, galley; electric waterpressure system, boyler hot watersystem, three burner electric stove, large 220v fridge+freezer, crockery, etc. Ample space and headroom for living onboard and long distance cruising.
2 x Ford diesel engines (1 x Lehman 105 hp/77kW,1973/4600 hours and 1 x Mermaid 138hp/100kW, 1995/900 hours), hydraulic gearboxes, s.s. propellershafts, three bladed fixed bronze propellers, cruisingspeed approx. 9 knots, manual bilgepump, heavy duty electric bilgepump, Onan 8,5kvA110v diesel generator (1988, approx. 5600 runninghours), shorepower, 12 DC and 110/220 AC electrical systems, 110 to 220v invertor, 220v to 110v invertor, 2 x 40amp batterycharger, 2 x 220amp service batteries, 1 x 220v start battery.
Sestrel Major compass, Seafarer echosounder and log (both to be checked for proper operation), VDO windset, Sailor RT104 VHF, Decca 050 radar, Cetrek autopilot, Philips Mk5 GPS, Kenwood R-2000 all band receiver, Philips radio/cassette player, loudhailer with intercom.
