MEDITERRANEAN 88

Mediterranean 88, built in 1988 by US Yacht Building Corporation in Taiwan, designed by Ted Hood, the hull was built to American Bureau of Ships Commercial Standards, has U.S. Manufactured Coast Guard Hull Identification Number, and is MCA Certified. Refits 2002 and 2004.

LOA 26.80m (87'11"), beam 6.10m (20'), draft 2.00m (6'6") centreboard up/5.89m (19'3) centreboard down.

The hull is reinforced fibreglass Airex double core with solid glass laminate under the ballast, engine beds and rudder post bow waterline areas. Refit in 2001 including resealing the entire hull with Epoxy, and repainting hull, superstructure, mast and boom in Awlgrip. All bulkheads, decks, engine stringers and mast step are bonded together. Water tight collision bulkhead forward and for added safety, a damage control bulkhead between engineroom and pump room. Teak laid decks. Displacement 88.17 tons.

Tank capacities: port 1,300 litres (286 Imp gallons), starboard 1,275 litres (281 Imp gallons), centre tank 4,425 litres (975 Imp gallons).

Holding tank capacities: grey forward 100 litres (22 Imp gallons), grey aft 150 litres (33 Imp gallons), black forward 100 litres (22 Imp gallons), black aft 150 litres (33 Imp gallons).

Interior in Burmese solid teak, handmade solid wood flooring.

Accommodation for 6 to 8 guests in three staterooms, plus 4 crew. Large master stateroom aft with queen size centreline bed, ensuite wc/showerroom. Two guest staterooms, one to port and one to starboard, each with extra large twin beds and one child's bed, and ensuite wc/showerooms.

Extra spacious main saloon with large L-shaped settee to starboard, skylight. Dining table seating eight persons, bar with fridge and icemaker.

Galley with 1,555 litres front and top-loading fridge and deep freezer, with Grunert holding plate system (new compressor 2011), 4-burner stainless steel gas range (2001, rebuilt 2011), Ovensharp Carousel microwave oven (2001), Kenmore Elite dishwasher (2001), Sears washing machine and dryer (2002).

Large dinette. Spacious crew quarters with two double cabins each with private head, sharing a showerroom.

Deck-house with 2 metre settees on either side and 360 degree view. Chart table, wet-bar with fridge. Fully equipped steering station.
