The Utopia was built for a Dutch yachtsman and far exceeds conventional standards for the "proper yacht". Her engineering, construction and finish are superb. Her round bilged hull and her stabilisers system makes her perfect for long range coastal cruising. Three staterooms plus crew layout. Purchased by an American in 1994 who outfitted her for U.S.A. truly "one of kind" offering.

General
BEELDSNIJDER Cutter "Utopia", built in 1989 by Hakvoort in Monnickendam - Holland, hull design by Pieter Beeldsnijder - Holland, dim.: approx. Loa 18.20 m x 5.30 m x 1.70 m., aluminium hull with four watertight bulkheads, aluminium superstructure and teak deck, aluminium folding mast, (21" clearance with mast down), blue round bilged hull with flared bow- and canoe stern. Capacity fuel tank: approx. 5.100 litres (3 internal aluminium tanks), capacity water tank: approx. 2.500 litres, sump tanks: approx. 200 litres (black) and approx. 80 litres grew water tank. Danfoss hydraulic steering system.
Oak interior, wheelhouse, saloon, dinette, three cabins, total 7 berths, two toilets, two showers. Crew accommodation with single berth / separate toilet / sink /air-conditioning and JVC radio. Aqua Air air-conditioning in saloon, guests & owners cabin, 48.000 BTU. Galley with Sea Recovery 400 water maker, fridge, deep freeze, Miele wash machine and wash dryer.
Twin Caterpillar diesel engines - 275 hp each, engine type D3306TA, enginehours approx 2.300, twin disc MG509 2.48:1 transmission, cruising speed 9.5 knots, maximum 11.5 knots, four bladed bronze propellers, stainless steel shafts: water lubricated, 23 hp hydraulic bowthruster, Najad stabilisers - model 252, automatic fire extinguishing system and six portable extinguishers, two salt and fresh water deckwashes, ships voltage 24/240, 2x 20 kW ONAN generators.
Anschutz gyro compass + Danforth Magnetic compass, log and wind set from Datamarine system, ICOM VHS IC-M127, Furuno FRI505DA 48 mile radar + Furuno 1900 - 24 mile radar, Robertson AP300 x autopilot, chart NAV chart plotter, Leica MX412 DGPS, Furuno AD-105 - Gyro converter/repeater.
Shanti loudhailer, Sony receiver STR-DE915-100 prologue sound system, RCA stereo HI-FI 4-head VCR and a few colour TV's in separate rooms. Canvas sun awning on fixed stainless steel frame. Sanshi Dngu electric search light, RFD Sea Save 8-man life raft, stainless steel electric davits, steel electro hydraulic windlass, Flush mounted pool anchor with aluminium boarding ladder, Sanguineti passerelle ladder.
