Broker's comments

A great deal of money was spent on this yacht in 1996 in order to make a trip around the world, new engines, generators, electrical wiring etc. All equipment updated or replaced. Due to change of plans, now available at a fraction of replacement cost.

75' Aluminium Cruising Ketch, built in 1983 by Contour Yachts in Wroxham, England, designed by Robert Brasted, LOA 75' (22.87m), beam 19' (5.79m), draft 6'6 (2.01m), aluminium hull (8mm), aluminium superstructure, 1'' teak laid over aluminium decks, teak decks overhauled April 2001, armoured glass in windows, round bilge blue hull, long shoal keel, displacement 52.5 tons, lead ballast, 1,250 Imp gallons (5,682 litres) fuel capacity, 1,250 Imp gallons (5,682 litres) water capacity, hydraulic steering, two steering stations, emergency steering.

Traditional interior style, various hardwoods with vinyl panelling, generous headroom, accommodation for eight persons in three double cabins each with wc/showerroom, plus crew accommodation for three in two cabins with wc/showerroom, large saloon/dining area, separate crew mess, galley down with fridge, deep freezer, icemaker, gas stove, gas oven, extractor, washing machine, tumble dryer, crockery and cutlery. Reverse cycle heating/air conditioning, hot water system, water pressure system, Seafresh 13.9 Imp gallons (63 litres) per hour watermaker.

Twin Perkins Sabre 135 hp diesels, new 1996, PRM 310 hydraulic gearboxes, fresh water cooling system with Halyard waterlift exhaust systems, maximum speed under power approx. 12 knots, cruising speed 9 knots, 3-bladed bronze propellers, stainless steel propeller shafts (new 1996), remote operated fire extinguishing system (new 1996), bilge pump. 240 VAC, 110 VAC, 24 VAC, 12 VAC ships service. The following is all new in 1996: twelve 250 ah batteries, Link 10 Monitor System, Westerbeke 12 kva generator, Perkins 5 kva generator, dual shore power connections. Constavolt, Heart 1.2 kva invertor (not new).

Azimuth electronic compass, Brookes & Gatehouse echosounder/log/wind instruments with repeaters, Sailor and Searanger VHF's, Sea 222 SSB, Raytheon 36 nm radar, Roberts autopilot (new 1996), Magellan GPS, weatherfax.

Stereo system, 10-person liferaft (new), Avon 4.01 RIB tender (new), Mariner 40 hp outboard (new), davits, lifejackets, IOR equipment, lifelines, fire extinguishers, Simpson Lawrence windlass, two CQR anchors with 260' and 220' 5/8 chains, swimming ladder, gangway, fenders, spare parts, tools, charts and books, clock and barometer.

Cutter Rigged ketch, Proctor aluminium masts, stainless steel fittings, stainless steel rigging, Easy Reef on-mast furling for main and mizzen, Profurl furling on genoa and staysail. Sails: mainsail (new 1996), mizzen (new 1996), twin downwind jibs, staysail, yankee, two Lewmar 65, two Lewmar 44 plus five other winches, whisker pole, spinnaker pole.
