General
60' Steel Ketch, built in 1977 by SLM and Budgeon, hull by Joyce Marine in England, launched 1978, designed by Robert Brasted, rebuilt 1996/97, LOA 18.20m (60'), beam 5.10m (16'8), draft 2.01m (6'6), corten steel hull sprayed with molten zinc internally and externally, 2'' foam insulation internally, painted white, long iron keel, teak and iroko superstructure, pilothouse built in 1997, teak laid deck, decks sanded and refurbished 1997, teak external trim, displacement approx. 40 tons, ballast approx. 12 tons (10 tons internal pig iron and half ton lead), 1,200 litres (264 Imp gallons) fuel capacity in 2 integral steel tanks, 2,545 litres (560 Imp gallons) water capacity in two integral steel tanks, Whitlock wheel steering with helm and engine controls in wheelhouse.
Teak interior (stripped and revarnished 1997), additional teak and holly sole boards added in 1997, all soft furnishings renewed in 1997. Accommodation for six persons in three double cabins, double bedded owner's cabin aft with ensuite wc/showerroom (refitted 1997), electric toilet (2001), two upper and lower bedded guest cabins forward, guest wc/showerroom, Johnson marine toilet, saloon with settee and table to starboard, chart table to port, steps down to galley (refitted 1997), new sinks (1997), fridge, deep freezer, electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher (new 2000), electric heating, water heater, Spectra 50 litre (11 Imp gallons) per hour watermaker (new 2000).
Gardner 6lxb 125 hp diesel (1977), overhauled 1997, reduction gearbox and thrustbox, 4-bladed propeller with rope cutter, maximum speed approx. 10 knots, cruising speed 7 knots, Volvo bowthruster, engine driven bilge pump (1997), water pump (1997), Perkins 13 kw generator, 4 x 2 banks of 24v batteries 1,200 amps, Vetus 2,000w inverter (new 1999), 50 amp battery charger (new 1999).
Autohelm log, echosounder, wind instruments with multifunction repeater (1997), Autohelm Navcentre chart plotter (1997), Autohelm radar (1997), Autohelm ST7000 and ST6000 autopilots (1997), Sailor RT144B VHF, Garmin 128 GPS.
Stereo system, cd player, DVD player, TV, Neco electric anchor winch, CQR anchor, 90m of 13mm heavy duty calibrated anchor chain, 8-man liferaft (latest certificate July 2000), Zodiac 3.60m RIB tender (new 2000), Yamaha 4 stroke 4 hp outboard (new 2000), Whittal ED19 heavyweight davits with stainless steel support structure, stainless steel pulpit, pushpit, boarding gates, mast pulpits. Flares, lifebuoys, lifejackets.
Ketch rig, Kemp anodised aluminium spars (all serviced 1997), both booms new 1997, stainless steel standing rigging (all serviced and renewed as necessary 1997), electric headsail roller furling, ''Easy Reef'' mainsail roller furling and lazy jack system to mizzen, Lewmar winches. Sails: Easy Reef mainsail (1997), genoa, inner jib, mizzen.
