GENERAL:Steel sailing yacht Carena Bonaventura 40 ''Helena'', built in 1973 by Gouwerok and overhauled 1987/89 by Jachttimmerbedrijf ''t Kolkje, dim.: 12.35 (loa 13.50 / lwl 9.60) x 3.60 x 1.65 m, design by H. Lemstra, steel roundbilged hull, deck and superstructure, teakdeck (renovated 1988/89), full bilged keel, skeg hung rudder, displacement: 13,5 tonnes, ballast: 3.8 tonnes (lead), fueltank: 700 ltrs (steel), freshwatertank: 600 ltrs (steel), mechanical wheelsteering, emergency tiller.

Classic (solid) mahogany interior, 2 cabins and saloon (aft), 4 fixed berths (with a little altering the dinette in the saloon could be used for extra berths), headroom: 1.90 mtr, Baby Blake u.w.toilet, 1 x bath/shower, Webasto diesel ducted air heating (2005), 3 x 220v heaters, galley: electric waterpressure system, boyler (45 ltrs) hot water on engine/220v, Origo two burner (spirit) stove with oven, 12v fridge with holdingplate, microwave, crockery for 6 persons.

Perkins 4.236M 72 hp (52 kW) diesel, installed in 1973, partial overhaul in 2003, new exhaust system in 2003, indirect coolingsystem, Paragon gearbox, s.s. propellershaft, three bladed fixed propeller, cruisingspeed approx. 7 kn, consumption approx. 3 ltr/hr, 2 x manual / 1 x electric bilgepumps, emergency bilgepump on engine, 12/220v electrical system (all wiring renewed 1993), 2 x 95amp/2 x 180 amp (2006) batteries, shorepower, Nautilus 15 amp batterycharger, Victron Atlas Combi 40 amp batterycharger & 1000 watt convertor, Sidepower electric bowthruster.

Sestrel Moore compass, VDO electric compass, Danaplus log and echosounder (defect) with repeater at the chart table (defect), Autohelm 6000 autopilot (defect), Shipmate RS5700 GPS, Shipmate RS8300 VHF with Atis, Raytheon R20 radar (24nm), Kenwood R2000 receiver (small defect), Vecom Navtex receiver (video), Sony radio/cass/cd player.

Fixed windscreen, sprayhood and cockpitcover ('02), S&L manual windlass, CQR anchor with 60 mtr chain, wintercover, 2 x lifejackets, lifebuoy, gangway, deckshower connection, manual/electric windscreen wipers, clock, barometer, cockpit table, fenders, warps, spares for engine. Hull sanblasted in 1994, newly painted in 2002.

Ketch-cutter-rigged, V/d Neut alum. masts, s.s. standing wiring, Top-Reff ('87) and Rotostay headsail furlers, 4 De Vries Sails: full batten main ('87)/ Fisherman genoa ('87) / self-tacking staysail / mizzen / mizzen staysail / booster, covers for main and mizzen (2004). slabreefing for main, tackle boomvang, 2 x ST sheetwinches, 2 x Gibb halyard winches.
