Steel motorsailer Staverse Kotter ST 71 "De Vrijheid", built in 1988 at the Shipyard Volharding - Stavoren/NL and designed by A.T. van der Werff, dim.: 12.40 x 3.98 x 1.05 m, max. headway approx. 11 mtr, minimum headway approx. 2,95 mtr, black steel hull, steel deck, teak and anti-slip in the cockpit, steel/wood superstructure, thermopane glass windows in aluminium framing, deck house, kimkeels, displacement approx. 17 tons, fuel capacity approx. 700 liters in steel tanks, water capacity approx. 600 liters, sump tank capacity approx 100 litres, double hydraulic wheel steering (inside and outside ) and a bowtruster.

Classic teak interior with open cockpit, large wheel house with L-shaped seating on port and steering position in front, below deck an L-shaped seating/dinette on port, and galley on starboard, cabin with double berths on port, frontcabin with double berth and lots of storage space a total of 6 berths, headway approx. 2 m, bathroom with manual toilet and shower. Galley with Eno Mendoza 3-burner stove with oven, refrigerator, microwhave, crockery.

Iveco 120 hp (88,20 kW) diesel engine, type 8061M35, Velvet gearbox, Skatra flexible coupling, 3 bladed propeller, Cupa bowtruster, 4 x 150 Ah AGM battery's (2010) and 2 x 120 Ah battery's, shorepower with cable, Dary battery charger 24/30, Mastervolt invertor 24/2500, BTM 3 batterymonitor, Webasto hot-air-heating, waterpressure system (2008), Boiler 60 litres (engine/220V), bilgepumps.

VDO electric compass, Zenth magnetic compass, VDO dept and log, Icom IC-M59 euro VHF, Raytheon R20xx radar, Autohelm ST6000 autopilot, Raytheon Nav 398 GPS, VDO Logic MAP 10 Plotter, VDO rudderindicator, Raytheon windset.
