CT 49 Cutter, built in 1981 by Ta Chiao Bros. Yacht Building Co., in Taiwan, designed by Kaufmann & Ladd, LOA 14.80m (48'5), beam 3.99m (13'2"), draft 1.83m (6'), GRP hull and superstructure, teak decks, round bilged white hull, hull epoxy barrier-coated in 1997, last haul-out with antifoul and anodes August 2003, swept-back cruising keel with skeg-hung rudder, displacement 13.4 tons, fuel capacity 567 litres (150 US gallons) in stainless steel tanks, water capacity 907 litres (240 US gallons) in stainless steel tanks, mechanical steering, emergency tiller, two-time Atlantic veteran.

Teak interior with indirect lighting, 1.98m (6'6") headroom, accommodation for seven persons in three cabins, plus two in main saloon: aft cabin with double and single berths, upper and lower berths in starboard walk-thru cabin, forward cabin with double berth, two heads with showers and sump pump. Saloon/dining room with seating for 8. Galley with new counter tops and cupboards, 12v fridge and separate deep freezer (2004), 110v icemaker/freezer, 3-burner propane stove and oven with safety shut-off and exhaust fan, microwave, crockery and cutlery, 220v electric heating in saloon, 37.8 litres (10 US gallons) electric and engine water heating system, water pressure system, 7 hatches and 11 opening ports with insect screens.

Perkins 4-236 85 hp diesel engine (1994) with fresh water cooling system, cruising speed 7.5 knots at 2,100 rpm, consuming approx. 2.8 litres (0.75 US gallons) per hour, easy engine 360-degree access and removal through cockpit, engine temp alarm, Racor fuel filter, Borg Warner velvet drive transmission, bilge blower, engine fuel shut-off valve, Martec 2-bladed folding propeller, spare 3-bladed fixed propeller, stainless steel propeller shaft, 120v high volume automatic bilge pump, 12v automatic bilge pump, manual bilge pump, 12/110/220v electric systems with converters and inverters for world cruising, three 12v 460 ah DC batteries (2003), 12v 70 ah engine battery (2003), 12v 70 ah generator battery (2002), Faryman 4.7 kw 110/220v generator (rebuilt 2004), 110/220v shore power connections, two battery chargers: 110v 30 amp and 220v 40 amp (2004).

Ritchie compass, Horizon depthsounder, Horizon knot-log-temp meter (2003), Horizon VHF with DSC (distress signal), cockpit remote and intercom (2002), ICOM 802 SSB (2003) with DSC, ICOM 140 auto-antenna tuner, Benmar CS21 autopilot, Garmin 120 GPS at nav station, Garmin 128 GPS in cockpit, Navtex weather receiver.

Exterior: heavy weather sprayhood with unzip window (2002), sun awning (2002), bimini (2002), closed-cell cushions and pillows (2002), teak cockpit grating, 3m (9'8") Valiant RIB tender (2002), Mariner 8 hp outboard, bow/stern pulpits and lifelines, Lofrans Tigress electric windlass, CQR anchor with 76m (250') 3/8" chain, Bruce spare anchor, two swim ladders, folding gangway, fenders, stainless steel dinghy davits, propane BBQ. Other: spare parts, tools, charts and cruising books, clock, barometer, 3 fire extinguishers with auto-extinguishing system in engine room, TV, cd player, stereo, fans.

Cutter rig, aluminium mast, stainless steel fittings, all stainless steel standing and running rigging replaced June 2002, new cruising Banks mainsail ("stack pack" system) with two reef points and lazy jacks (2003), Reckmann jib roller furling (rebuilt 2004), 130% genoa, staysail, stormjib, trysail, spinnaker, spare mainsail, boomvang, mast steps, Barlow winches: 2x 32 ST, 2x 27 ST, 3x 23 ST, 2x 23 ST.
