Like all Aleutians, this is a raised pilot house design with portuguese bridge and huge central master cabin. Algemeen
Grand Banks is legendary for its build quality and the modern classic looks of their designs, retaining high resale value through the years.
This particular GB 53 RP was built in 2010 and exhibited at the Genoa and Dusseldorf boat shows. It has been meticulously maintained and upgraded by the respected Walsted boatyard in Svendborg, Denmark, and was recently shipped to the Mediterranean. We believe it to be the only brokerage Grand Banks 53 RP currently available in Europe.
The three-cabin design provides ample accomodation. The Master Suite has its own staircase from the Salon, and includes a large bathroom with ample shower stall. It has access to the Utility Room with a small desk/computer station, ample storage lockers and a Bosch washer/dryer. The front stairs lead to the two guest cabins, one featuring a queen bed, the other up and down berths, and sharing a comfortable head with separate roomy shower. All beds are fitted with luxury Victoria mattresses.
The spacious Salon with two settees features a large 40 inch Nec TV screen and a Bose DVD/Sound system. Three steps lead from the salon to the raised Pilot House. The dinette next to the helm is also a pleasant place to enjoy the view with the helmsman en route. The galley with its huge Sylestone counter top includes separate silent keel-cooled Frigoboat freezer and fridge, Miele electric cooktop, and Miele combination oven/microwave.
The interior is finished throughout in grand classic nautical style with satin-varnished burmese teak typical of Grand Banks.
Two Cummins QSM 11 of 11.7 liters cylinder capacity, giving 710 hp each at top 2550 rpm. Electronic monitoring screens at helm and fly. Top Speed : 23 KT. Cruising : 17 kt at 2150 rpm. Economy : 9.5 kt using 38 litres/hour.
Fuel tanks capacity : approx. 3,800 litres. Water tank : 1050 litres.
Bowthruster and Sternthruster : Sleipner Sidepower.
Control positions : Glenfidding at helm, flybridge and in aft cockpit for docking.
Windlass : Lofrans Falkon with 100 m of 12 mm chain and 50 kg Delta anchor.
Secondary ground tackle : Fortress anchor with 100 m of 25 mm nylon and chain. Spare extra CQR anchor.
Electronics : Full Raymarine touch-screen E-series suite with Plotter, Radar, Fishfinder, VHF and Autopilot, repeated on Flybridge. Secondary separate Depth/Speed instruments for redundancy.
Sat-TV : Intellian 60 cm dish/dome.
Tender : Zodaic 380 DL Yachtline, with 40 hp Yamaha.
Davit : Steelhead Canada 800 lbs crane.
Life raft : Zodiac 8-person container.
Retractable passerelle by Opacmare
Air Conditioning : Full boat, with five marine units by Marine Airr. Can be used as reverse-cycle heaters.
Batteries : Extra large capacity, all AGM. Mastervolt Inverter, chargers (24 and 12 V) and Isolation transformers. All battery switches are motorized and controlled from helm.
Generator : Onan 17.5 Kw.
Heads : Tecma electric.
Watermaker : Sea Recovery Acqua-Matic, 220 l per hour.
